Our founder, Christian Dittrich, a cold-water surfer, experienced firsthand the frustration of ear infections during a surf trip in Morocco. Determined to find a solution, he and a team of engineers created SurfEars, the optimal surfing ear plugs that balance ear protection with the ability to hear the ocean.

Surfer’s ear (exostosis) is a condition caused by prolonged exposure to cold water and wind, leading to bone growth in the ear canal. Over time, it can cause hearing loss and recurring infections. Swimmer’s ear, caused by trapped water and bacteria, leads to painful infections as well.
