Benoit Carpentier

The Allrounder, Brittany, France

From the coast of the Iroise sea in Brittany, France. His parents have brought his two brothers, sister and himself a lifetime of maritime culture: fishing, sailing (dinghy, cruiser, catamaran), windsurfing, kayaking, diving, snorkelling and surfing. Of all these experiences, surfing has been the centre of the whole family’s life.

He enjoys trying all types of boards and compete in 2 sports: longboard and SUP Surf

In longboard, he won the European junior title in 2014 in Azores and contributed to earning gold for team France. In 2018, he entered the WSL European Qualifying Series and placed 2nd in 2020.

 His favourite sport and the one he does best is stand up paddle surfing and since 2012, he is one of the top 10 riders of the APP World Tour.

He is proud to represent France at ISA World Championship and contributed to France bronze medal in 2018, silver medal in 2016 and 2017 and gold medal in 2019. His best individual results are a bronze medal in Denmark in 2017 and a gold medal in El Salvador in 2019. He is also the current Europe Champion.

He likes testing and developing new boards with the Starboard R&D team. He appreciates foiling and wing-foiling.

Competition and travels motivates him a lot. They provide beautiful human and sporting adventures with other athletes to help improving.
