When did you start surfing and how did it all begin?

I started surfing when I was about 7 years old, my dad grew up surfing his whole life and first taught me how to surf at old mans. After the first wave, I was hooked.

 

How old are you?

I am 17 years old

 

What does a normal day look like for you?

A normal day for me is lots of surfing, friends and school

 

What are your goals and dreams going forward?

My goals and dreams going forward at this point are to excel in my surfing and grow and learn everyday. My long term goal and dream in to make the world championship tour.

 

What are the main challenges with becoming a pro surfer?

The main challenges with becoming a pro surfer is the level if talent that surfing has become. Women’s surfing is growing everyday and the judges want to see the girls surfing like the boys.

Who inspires you? Any surfers you look up to?

Carissa Moore is my number one inspiration in surfing. She is so passionate about the sport and uses every aspect of her day for surfing.

 

What’s your top surf spot so far? What wave do have you not yet surfed?

My favorite surf spot so far is lowers. It’s right in my back yard and is still one of the best waves I’ve ever surfed, it’s better when there’s no crowd though!

 

Except for surfing, what other interests do you have?

Besides surfing, I love photography and to cook! I’m also in love with traveling.

Do you think surfing is becoming a more mainstream/popular sport?

Surfing is becoming a much more popular sport because the sport has really taken off professionally and now it is easier for people to see how exciting and fun surfing is.

 

Why do you love surfing?

I love surfing because it’s a way I can express myself. Riding a wave is a feeling like no other, I always feel better when I’m surfing.
