HOW TO FIT YOUR SURFEARS

SurfEars can be custom fit to your ears by changing size of GELS and WINGS.

How to get started:

1. Try SurfEars on. Make sure you fit the plugs snugly but comfortably.

2. If needed, change size of GELS and WINGS to secure a proper fit and seal in your ears.

Tip! It’s not uncommon different sized left & right ears, so try all sizes in both ears to ensure you get a perfect fit.

HOW TO CHANGE GELS

1. Grip the WING with one hand and pull off the GEL with the other
2. Position the new GEL at the tip of the CORE
3. Slide the GEL onto the core by pushing it with your index finger. Keep pushing until the locking ring on the BUD snaps into the groove on the CORE. You’ll feel a slight click when fully engaged.

Please note that you can change position of the GEL in and out. In position 1 the GEL sits further into your ear canal, while position 2 makes it sit further out. People with surfer’s ear (exostosis) should use position 2.

Tip!
If you experience the plugs not sealing well enough, try a larger gel size. If you feel that the seal is too tight and get a blocked sensation, try a smaller gel size.

HOW TO CHANGE WINGS

1. Grip the CORE with one hand and the heel of the WING with the other.

2. Note that core and wings for the left ear are marked with a L and core and wings for the right ear are marked with a R, if the letters on both the core and the wing are aligned you are doing it right.

3. Insert the rib of the CORE into the groove of the WING. Hold the CORE between your thumb and index finger. Secure the WING by pinching it between your thumb and the CORE. While pinching one side of the WING, stretch it gently while mounting it onto the rib of the CORE with a circular motion.

4. With the rotation guide snapped in place, gently pull the remaining part of the WING over the rib of the CORE until it snaps in position.

HOW TO USE THE LEASH

1. Having Surfers correctly fitted in you ears, let the leash hang down from your neck

2. Pull the adjuster so that you have just enough slack on the leash to avoid pulling on the plugs when turning your head from side to side.

3. Place the leash loop over your head and your SurfEars are secured to your body.

Note:
For safety reasons the leash is designed to break before these any risk in getting hurt, should you get tangled up.

HOW TO REMOVE THE LEASH

1. Remove the GEL from the CORE on both left and right plugs

2. Detach the leash by pulling it off from the core

3. Reattach the GELS and your good to go

Note!
We recommend to wear the leash to prevent the plugs from being lost. We don’t have a warranty covering lost plugs.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR SURFEARS

To ensure proper functionality for your SurfEars please follow these care instructions:

1. Wash plugs in fresh warm water after use
2. Keep out of direct sun light while not in use
3. Store in a dry cool place

Tip!
If you haven’t washed your plugs frequently salt crystals may build up, blocking the mesh and reducing functionality. To restore functionality of plugs you can leave them in warm soap water for a few hours, gently clean the mesh with a soft brush, rinse under fresh warm water and let dry.
